Around the Rosy Baby Blanket
By: Brenda G.
Aug/Sept 2005
Need:
Sport weight yarn (I used about 3 skeins of 6 oz. sportweight)
H Hook
Stitches used, sl st, ch, sc, dc, tr tog, ch2 v-st
ch2 v-st: (dc, ch2, dc)
I believe the blanket came out to be approx. 36-38" across...It is a baby sized blanket..
To make a larger blanket you could use worsted weight yarn and a J hook, just uses more yarn as well.

This is a version of round ripple I designed after Angel Crafts Round Ripple. Because of the nature of the pattern isn't something new, I offer it to you but it is based from another great designer.
Thank you, if there are any questions please feel free to email me and I will answer as soon as I can.

Brenda I just started my blog. I am a crocheter and found this pattern on your page. I am having a little trouble making it lay flat. I would like very much to post a link on my blog for it. Please understand that I am in the process of learning how to do this. Diane email jdwel02@earthlink.net
how many skeins of yarn did you need?
i have been crocheting for years and to the lady who can not get her blanket to lie flat, count every stich through out the blanket. i do that with my ripple blankets and no problem.
Looks just like the pattern for sale in the mary maxim catalog
Pretty! I am making one for a friend, but have gotten hung up on round 5. could you please explain? It goes from 24 spaces to 12 spaces. What happens to the other twelve? I am pretty new at blanket and round crocheting. thanks!
HI .. I am wondering how many skeins of sport yarn you used .. and the color name .. this afghan is absolutely beautiful! Thank you
cool!
Hi I have made the round ripple - this looks like a really pretty modification - thank yo so much
Very nice! Thank you! I make round afghans on my knitting machines. I will have to give this a try.

I simply love these patterns! I want to learn the V stitch...could you by any chance let me know how to do it? I look forward to using fun fur for the first time. I will let you know how it turns out or if I need help with it. Thank you for sharing these patterns-I think they are simply lovely.
I simply love your patterns. There are a few new stitches in them for me to learn.Could you help me with the directions on the v stitch? I will let you know how I do on them...I look forward to the challenge!Thank you!DeeAnne
I used 4 oz balls of Lion Brand Baby Soft to make this (in Twinkle) and it took me 4 balls. I thought I was going to make it in 3, but not quite. I also noticed that it doesn't want to lay flat after the second row of clusters. Maybe working in more dc's than the pattern says would help it flatten out some. It turned out so cute and I can't wait to give it to my friend!
Hello! I found this pattern in the Crochet Pattern Central directory. I've been wanting to try a round ripple pattern and will probably try this one first instead; I like it. What size does it turn out using sport yarn? Thanks.
how many skeins of yarn for the beautiful baby blanket? I am going to be a grandmother for the first time and am very anxious to make this. It is so different - just beautiful.thanks Mary
I am looking to find out how much yarn was used to make the blanket? The pattern does not say how much.
Thank you all for the comments....I will update the page now as well...
I think I had 3 skeins of the sportweight yarn that is 6 oz in size...
It is my take on the Round Ripple as a great designer at angel crafts has made, it has a different center and some bobbles in it but I got the rippling from her design...
The 2 ch v-st is (dc, ch 2, v-st)
Will add that to the pattern as well....
I think this is the most beautiful baby blanket I've ever seen. Great job!!!!!
I am new at crochet and i am trying to do the blanket. I am stuck in Round 12. i am not sure that i did it right. Do you have something that i can see to make sure. I am also stuck on Round 13 beacuse i am not sure what is the next stich? Please help
Thanks,
Rosa, the row 12 special stitch is above the row 12... and the slip stitch on 13 and on all the rounds is to make the bottom of the v of the round ripple....
you can send an email to me from my site if any other questions...
You your designs are beautiful. I am fond of your NASCAR designs. My hubby and I are huge fans of NASCAR. I can't crochet so I enjoy your knit patterns the most. I was wondering if you have one of a race car? I have to make my grandson a blanket and thought a race car one would go great with his race car bed. Thanks for all your talent. Take each day one stitch at a time.
Keep on Knitting,

Hi Bren, wow this is a cute afghan.. heard about it on a crochet pattern list I'm a member of! WoW looks sort of similar to one I made on the 'ville.. also peek in there time to time to look for fun project ideas. I made a soft one for my little doggy bed I use in my car for my 2 japanese chin. it's called "van gogh in the round, and it is like your original without popcorn, and the texture is more faded almost tiedye like with colors by using two strands together and dropping one and adding the next (bicolor) for the change color round. Thought I'd share a pic but don't know how to upload to your blog... or comment pic? Anyway, gorgeous work, I love your blog! Thimble

Hi Bren, I love your blog! I wish I knew how to cross post and or add you to mine and vice versa. I love to crochet. I have a pic of one similar I did a few months ago, it is called van gogh technique as the colors are blended by holding two strands together. When you color change, you drop just one strand of color a, add color b, and do one round of that. Then you drop color a, and pick up two color b.. etc.. the finished effect is a soft blend, it's cool. I did a doggy (donut bed) lining for my very spoiled Japanese Chin doggies.. they are so picky and either didn't like the smell of the bed covering or the feel, or ...hahaha color??? I just don't know. Those girls are so finicky. Anyway, now they have that in my car so they don't slide on the leather seats, ha..
Thanks for posting your blog, will try to remember to check back and see what projects are on your to do list. Thimble

It is very pretty! I used to think those were very difficult to make. I started one yesterday, before I found your blog. So far, it is working out well. I just started with a 5-point granny and took it from there. Thanks for sharing.
